Drupal has had enormous adoption by Government clients in Australia and New Zealand, and the DrupalSouth Steering Committee has identified an opportunity to form a Working Group that will drive the following initiatives:
- Enhance collaboration opportunities between governments across all levels within Australia and New Zealand
- Prioritise upstreaming and contribution to Drupal for Government-funded enhancements
- Highlight the stability, security and suitability of Drupal as an open source solution for Government
- Improve, collaborate and share documentation and training resources
- Coordinate the recognition of Drupal use in all levels of Government
- Promote Australia and New Zealand globally as leaders of Drupal in Government
- Celebrate success of community users contributing to Drupal for Government purposes
- Facilitate engagement with other Drupal government users globally
Former GovCMS Tech Lead and Amazee.io Product Lead, Toby Bellwood, has offered to coordinate the Working Group and is seeking 4-6 people to join and drive these initiatives forward. Prospective members will ideally have experience in Drupal or other open source software and have worked within or provided services to Government agencies. The composition of the Working Group will adhere to Drupal's diversity and inclusion values.
