DrupalSouth is planning to run a series of 3hr online events, likely in late May, August and November 2021. The DrupalSouth Steering Committee is seeking the following volunteers to assist with the event organisation via this online form.
Content Lead: Responsible for determining each event’s focus topic, then curating a program of invited speakers, panelists, discussion and on-demand content, such as recent DrupalCon talks. Estimated time commitment: 1-2hrs per week in the lead up to each event. 6-10hrs in the week prior to each event. On call during each event.
Sponsorship Lead: Finalise and distribute sponsor kits, respond to enquiries and manage agreements and invoicing. Ensure that each Sponsor’s package is fulfilled during the events. Estimated time commitment: 1-2hrs per week in the lead up to the first event. 3-5hrs in the week prior to each event. On call during each event.
Sprint Lead: Responsible for coordinating the virtual Contribution Sprints following each event. This might include onboarding new Sprint attendees, defining areas of focus for each Sprint and coordinating attendees via online tools. Estimated time commitment: 0.5-1hr per week in lead up to each event. 1-3hrs in the week prior to each event. On call during each Sprint.
Event Assistants: During each online event, Assistants respond to attendee enquiries, help Sponsors manage their online booths and coordinate online sessions. Estimated time commitment: 1hr briefing prior to each event. On call during each event.
While all these roles are on an unpaid basis, DrupalSouth volunteers receive complimentary tickets to each event they’re helping on, acknowledgement on the event website and contribution credits on Drupal.org. Volunteering is a great way to develop your relationships and profile within the Drupal community and requires skills that are highly applicable to professional roles.
Submissions must be received by 11:59pm AEDT on Friday March 19 and candidates will be assessed and selected by the DrupalSouth Steering Committee.
