DrupalSouth Steering Committee Minutes - May 6, 2021

Monday 31st May

Attendees: Janna Malikova, Chris Skene, Dave Sparks, Owen Lansbury, Kristy de Vries, Nicole Ritchie, Sohal Khatwani

Website redesign preview and feedback process

  • A design presentation was given by the chosen designer
  • The overall feel is clean and crisp to create an environment that is sophisticated and projects a high level of professionalism to its audience and sponsors alike. It also incorporates a fun side that aims to represent the DrupalSouth community through typography and colour palette.
  • The design takes inspiration from the idea that it can be maintained for future events, removing the need for a custom design year after year. 
  • Committee members to provide feedback prior to next Monday. 

DrupalSouth 2021 Shorts 

  • Nicole Sterling is making great progress
  • We will be running 3 events in 2021
    • June: Executive Online Roundtable | Thursday 3 June | 11:30am AEST | 1:30pm NZST
      • Small pilot for about 20 attendees 
      • 1 speaker + round table / panels
      • Test concept / short format
    • Further events in August and November for the community

DrupalSouth 2022 update

  • There is still a big risk the event can’t go ahead due to continuous Covid lockdowns
  • Current insurance company won’t cover cancellation in case of Covid
  • A decision will need to be made closer to time

Committee updates 

  • Sohal is taking over the Treasurer role from Nicole
  • Chris is leaving the committee this month as previously planned
