My background and history with Drupal:
I've been working almost exclusively with Drupal since D4.6. I help out on IRC and, occasionally, Slack. I contribute and peer-review patches on the issue queues and co-maintain a few modules. I've also been a paid up Individual Member of the Drupal Association for the last 5 years.
Why I'm running as a candidate:
I'm one of 3 founders of DrupalSouth and only 2 of us are still active in the Drupal Community. The other active member is Jonathan Hunt. When the proposal for this Sub-Committee came about I had a feeling like the thing I helped start was now all grown up. If possible I'd like to be involved with it for as long as possible.
Why you should vote for me:
My passion and interest in Drupal is pretty much a given. Over the years I've run 5-6 events ranging from unconferences through to full on conferences with international speakers. My experiences with that make me feel like I'd have something practical to contribute to the purpose of the Sub-Committee.
