About

My background and history with Drupal:

I started working with Drupal in 2012 after evaluating several content management systems for personal use. After determining that Drupal was the solution I wanted, I soon gained a lot more interest in it after using it to build a personal project, which piqued my interest.

After a short time, I engaged a government agency as a Drupal content editor. Around this time, I joined the local MeetUp group and have attended almost every meetup since.

Moving on, I then had the opportunity to work on supporting a group of developers in my team by providing and enhancing their local development experience. I supported a whole team and their interests by using locally hosted CI to manage operational tasks and converting what could be automated.

My career took a significant turn when I joined the team working on an important government project during its early adoption stage. This experience allowed me to contribute to the operations streams and work with the platform, making a tangible impact on the local Drupal community.

After the migration to that platform stabilised, I needed a change and new challenges. At the 2019 DrupalSouth event, I focused on engaging with the community, and it was through this that I made friends who helped directly shape my career.

I continue to work with many technologies supporting Drupal hosting, which I've come to love and continue to learn from.

I've also taken on new challenges by volunteering for the DrupalSouth steering committee and the DrupalCon Asia Volunteering teams. I aim to support the individuals involved in these roles and learn something new.

Why I'm running as a candidate:

I am determined to continue this engagement in an official capacity, contributing and collaborating to serve and support the community that has been instrumental in shaping me.

My commitment to DrupalSouth and DrupalCon Asia events is persistent. Since early 2024, I have actively engaged with the Steering committee following DrupalSouth Sydney, and have been engaging in multiple volunteering positions to events in our region. I am eager to offer my time and help bring these events to fruition.

Why you should vote for me:

You should vote for me because I care about the DrupalSouth conference and its community and regional event sustainability.

I have been working with Drupal in some way for more than a decade, and I would love the opportunity to serve our community in a tangible way.

Gender:

Male

Anything else voters should know?

In addition to volunteering with the DrupalSouth committee in a support capacity, I am committed to helping DrupalCon Asia become a sustainable annual event. The event in Singapore represents a significant opportunity to ensure DrupalCon longevity in the region.
