My background and history with Drupal:
I was introduced to Drupal 6 while it was being built into a platform to run a product for a company I was working for while studying, in 2010. Since then it has become the core piece of software my careeer revolved around, from junior developer to solution architect whether that was in-house, government or part of an agency (where I am now).
I maintain a few contrib modules including token_filter and advanced_email_validation (my pet project), and recently I took on maintainership of the token and menu_ui core subsystems.
Why I'm running as a candidate:
I have learned *so* much from our community over the years, and I want to put some extra energy back into it. That doesn't have to be now - I'm nominating to ensure that there is a robust field of people to choose from. No committee, no events ;)
I'd also like some experience in a more professional committee, particularly around budget handling and the formalities involved in that.
Why you should vote for me:
You should vote for me if you believe I have the capability to help steer the event calendar and support the local teams along with the rest of the committee, and you believe I have the time and energy to do it justice.
To that end: I have been helping run national events in my dance community for at least a decade handling bands and DJs, so I have some adjacent volunteereing experience.
