About

My background and history with Drupal:

I’ve worked for Annex Digital for the last 6 years across dozens of Drupal projects. In that time I’ve been a tester and delivery manager as well as managing our support services and now partnerships practice.

Drupal is the core of our work and I’ve come to appreciate not just the fantastic enterprise ready open source CMS but also the great community around it.

Why I'm running as a candidate:

I’m running because I’ve got a lot out of the Drupal community over the last few years and I’d like to contribute more directly to helping it grow.

Through DrupalSouth, DrupalACT, the Drupal Certified Partner program and my work at Annex, I’ve seen how valuable the community is - not just for developers, but for designers, testers, delivery people, clients, government teams and people who are new to Drupal. The best part of DrupalSouth for me has always been that mix of people, knowledge sharing and genuine community.

Why you should vote for me:

I bring a practical perspective that sits across technology, delivery, quality, clients and community.

I’m actively involved with DrupalACT, have spoken at DrupalSouth and local meetups, and work closely with teams delivering Drupal for major Australian government organisations. I’m particularly interested in making Drupal accessible to people outside the traditional developer audience and helping strengthen the connection between the community, agencies, government, end users and people discovering Drupal for the first time.

I’m collaborative, happy to get involved and do the work, and I’m not coming in with a grand agenda. I’d like to help DrupalSouth keep doing what it already does well, bring some fresh ideas where useful, and contribute to growing a healthy and inclusive Drupal community across the region.

Gender:

Male

Anything else voters should know?
I’m already getting involved where I can - from helping with DrupalACT and speaking at community events, promoting Drupal with fellow DCP's, to recently sitting in on DrupalSouth Steering Committee meetings to better understand how things work behind the scenes.

I’m also probably not your typical Drupal candidate. I’m not a developer; my background is in delivery, QA, client engagement and bringing people together. I think that diversity of experience is useful for a community that is about much more than code.

Most importantly, I enjoy being part of this community. I’m happy to roll up my sleeves, help organise things, share ideas, talk to people and do the less glamorous jobs that keep community events going.
