The following questions and answers relate to the DrupalSouth Website Redesign EOI.
Just confirming that you're happy with your developers and host, so this is a design only job?
As noted in the EOI document, the primary response relates to design only, but respondents are welcome to include a separate proposal for front end development if they have these skills in house. Annex Digital and Tomato Elephant Studio only provide maintenance, such as security updates. Hosting on Platform.sh is provided to DrupalSouth for free and there is no need to consider moving from this.
Can we get access to the codebase+database so we can review the current object model? We get the impression this is working for you so it would be good to review it as context for the redesign.
It's not deemed necessary to provide access to the code base for the purposes of the redesign proposal. We are not seeking any changes to UX or content model, purely a style guide that can be applied to any content type.
Is this part of a Drupal 9 port? This might be relevant in terms of making design choices which work well with the existing module ecosystem.
No, the website is already running on Drupal 9 and we are not seeking to add any new functionality.
Does the style guide need to advise on other event design collateral?
Yes. The EOI notes that "The style guide should consider how the design can be applied consistently to third party platforms, social media channels and event collateral, such as signage and presentation slides".
Is the sessionize event schedule being retained and can it be styled?
This was a one-time use of Sessionize for DrupalGov, so we would only be looking to how a style guide could be applied to this type of content in the future in terms of fonts and colours. There is no need to include a full session schedule in the style guide at this time.
What were the main complaints about the current website from the last event?
The only complaint we have internally is that the website has never had a style guide to adhere to and has evolved in a completely ad-hoc manner. The primary goal is to project a more professional image to our community and people looking to evaluate Drupal by attending a DrupalSouth event.
Which social media platforms are being used?
Twitter is the primary social media platform used, but we also have a Facebook page that receives intermittent updates.
How many rounds of review and iteration should be included in the estimate?
This should follow the designer's preferred methodology for reviews and approvals with any extra fees noted if additional rounds of review are required.
